www.tips-fb.com The Art of Swag

Today's post centers around a topic near and dear to my heart: the art of dress. For those of you who are already swag masters, you may find this post to be something you've already heard. For those of you who are novices in the gentlemanly arts of style, you will find this wardrobe essentials primer quite a boon. I'm giving you all fifteen pieces that should be in every urban gentleman's wardrobe or on his shopping list.
  1. Bowties: You just can't hate on them. Pair them with a dress shirt under a cardigan, under a sweater, or under a blazer.
  2. Designer Jeans: Find a pair in light wash, dark wash, white, and black. And make sure that they fit perfectly. If you don't know your size, just go to a formal wear store and ask for your measurements.
  3. Sneakers: Have a white pair, a black pair, and at least one unique pair of sneakers. The best staple sneakers are K-Swiss and Adidas. Don't forget Converses. For more colorful ones, choose Nike.
  4. V-Neck T-Shirt: Have at least one in black and white and have at least three in other colors. These are easily paired with other clothing items.
  5. Blazer: Keep one in black, navy, and if you choose, white khaki. Fit is also important here!
  6. Aviator sunglasses: They add the right amount of masculinity and mystery to any look day or night, winter or summer.
  7. A swanky watch: Have one watch that has gems in it or a watch that is extremely sleek. It adds that touch of glamour.
  8. Signature fragrance: Go to the perfume counters in the mall and in department stores to find a scent that fits your personality. Buy it regularly so that people (especially potential dates) can have something to remember you by.
  9. Something borrowed: Look to a celebrity or stylish person you admire, find an item of theirs, and put your own spin on it. Chances are, that's how they did it.
  10. Graphic Tee: Find funky and attractive graphic tees such as Ed Hardy and Artful Dodger to pair with a blazer on a casual day or wear alone.
  11. Tuxedo: Definitely a must for those V.I.P. parties and for formal dining occasions. Pick one in white or pick one in black. Fit is important!
  12. Wing-Tipped Shoes: Have a pair in brown, black, and white. For more adventurous dressers, they are many pairs in colors such as red, blue, and gold. Make sure your shoes match your belt, or if they are colored, your pants.
  13. Plaid necktie: This adds structure to casual outfits and makes them look more sophisticated when you need that extra credibility.
  14. Driving cap: This hat will make a casual outfit look stylish and will give a classic element to more professional attire.
  15. Polo shirt: This is the most important essential to the gentleman's wardrobe. Dress it down with khakis and Converses, or dress it up with a blazer and a knit v-neck sweater.
